UB40 with special guest Eddy Grant
UB40's live concerts have earned them a reputation as one of the best live bands in the world. Their performances are second to none, an art form which they have polished & perfected from constantly touring the globe. This year alone, UB40 have played sold-out concerts in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Uganda, USA, Bermuda, Holland Germany and Spain.
The Birmingham based reggae legends, representative of a diverse and multicultural Britain, have sold more than 70 million records during their esteemed musical career, having achieved a remarkable tally of no fewer than 54 UK hit singles, including 17 UK Top 10 hits and an impressive three worldwide No 1's. In addition, UB40 are one of the few British bands to have broken the notoriously difficult U.S. market.
On the surface, it would appear there's not much left for the world's leading reggae act to achieve. On current form however, UB40 are revitalised, and revelling in the opportunity to make their voices heard longer and stronger than ever before confirming that they are currently in the studio recording their new album, "Labour of Love IV".
Fellow ringbang artist, Eddy Grant will be the special guest on all the UK arena dates. Grant's career has spanned over thirty years and has had many hit singles including 'Do You Feel My Love' and 'I Don't Wanna Dance' which stayed at Number 1 in the UK charts for 3 weeks in 1982. Grant's biggest single was 'Electric Avenue' which went on to sell over 1 million copies worldwide having been re-released in 2001 as a remix. As an artist who has always been politically astute, Grant scored another hit with "Gimme Hope Jo'anna", during the apartheid regime. Most recently, Eddy Grant performed at Glastonbury 2008.
Said Eddy, "Look out for an amazing show! The mixture of British reggae from UB40 to my hit laden spot of ringbang music will have everybody dancing in the aisles and a night when everybody will dance home and plan to book a flight to the Caribbean for some more!"
