Simple Minds

Simple Minds perform songs from their new album 'Graffiti Soul' as well as their classics

With Very Special Guests

'Orchestral Manouvres in the Dark'

Hailed by millions as one of the best "live" rock'n'roll bands in the world, Simple Minds are pleased to announce the UK leg of their forthcoming "Graffiti Soul" World Tour. They will be returning to The Metro Radio Arena on Monday 30th November 2009, just after the highly anticipated release of Simple Minds' 15th studio album "Graffiti Soul", which was released on May 25th.

"Sometimes things come together exactly as you want them to. New Gold Dream and Once Upon A Time were like that, and it was the same with Graffiti Soul. I can't say making it was effortless, exactly - that would take away from all the hard work that Charlie, in particular, put in. It did just roll though; It felt right." - Jim Kerr, February 2009

The tour follows hot on the heals of last year's triumphant sold out "30th Anniversary Tour" which saw the band performing the entirety of their milestone 1982 album "New Gold Dream".

As part of the Graffiti Soul tour, Simple Minds are proud to announce OMD as their very special guests.

Says Andy McCluskey of OMD - "Two bands that started in the same year but 300 miles apart, two young neighbours in each band inspired by the same heroes but driven to make different music. Two unplanned journeys from abstract art to international hits. Indeed forty of them between us! Its going to be a wonderful tour!"

"We are very excited to announce the UK leg of the Graffiti Soul tour," says lead singer and founding member, Jim Kerr. "Graffiti Soul is one of our most powerful albums to date. The new songs have an undeniable rock and roll edge and immediacy to them and we can't wait to perform them live!"

"Last year we were blown away by the reaction from last year's 30th Anniversary concerts," reflects Kerr. "Simple Minds continues to embody an uplifting musical spirit and enthusiasm that was evident in our early work. We haven't lost our edge. If anything, we've refined it! We can't wait to perform the songs from Graffiti Soul as well as songs from our previous albums."
