I'm not telling you what I put in my mouth. How very dare you! 

What makes you angry/laugh?

Angry... People who put you down. Laugh... When they get there's!

What's your favourite bar/restaurant?

Mood @ The Gate. I DJ there Friday nights from 9:30  

Do you have any hobbies?

Reading, Cooking, Watching Cult TV Classics, Walking. Too many to mention... 

What was your first ever record?

Blondie - Tide Is High (My Auntie B bought me it...) 

Who is the most famous person you have met through work?

Howard from Take That. I met him when I was a do at Powerhouse in Newcastle. He was so down to earth. Great guy.  

What was the most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you at work?

I put a call out to my mam on air when I hadn't edited it properly. I was having a bit of a bad day and I was sounding off to her about work. My boss is such a cool guy. He was sound about it. Love him he's a legend. 

What was the best company night out?

Emap party 2002 when Rik Shaw was at Metro Radio. We worked well together and got each others humour.

I'm Stu and I pop up every now and again on the world famous Metro Radio!! You can hear me every Friday night from 10 with Floorfillers - four hours of the best dance anthems from the 80s, 90s, 00s and now! I'm also on Saturdays doing the Top 10 At 10 and Sunday evenings from 7.

  • 2002 - Metro Radio & Kiss 100 as Stu Smith (We all have silly names in radio, but this is my real one)
  • I also DJ in Newcastle. I've worked at Powerhouse, Loft, Baja, Envy, Digital... Ah too many to mention.

Mum charged with murder of 2 year old son

Police have charged Melanie Ruddell with the murder of her two-year-old son Christy after she took his lifeless body into Peterlee Police station last month. The 39 year old from Catle Eden had been receiving hospital treatment following her arrest on the morning of August 9th.  [more]
