Dan Black
As one of the cover presenters at Metro Radio you probably haven't heard Dan on your radio much!
Chances are you won't be hearing him much more now either, but if you're awake on a Sunday morning from 2-6am then you'll find him on Metro Radio!
You can also hear Dan whenever the bosses at Metro Radio dare put to him on a show if the usual presenter is on holiday, ill or just being plain lazy... and only when absolutely everyone else they could think of isn't available!

We asked Dan to answer a few of our questions, here's what he had to say...
Describe yourself in 3 words
Ambitious Crazy Workaholic (I think I'm actually more fun than that sounds!)
What would you be if you weren't a presenter?
Finish that degree I started... or DJing in a club or running a bar / cafe or something like that... I'd love to teach in a College or Uni one day too, that'd be fun!
What advice would you give someone starting their career today?
Hard work pays off, and even more so if you can find a job that you love!
What makes a good presenter?
I get asked this a lot, lots of people think that their mate is really funny in the office or in the pub, but its not always the case when you put a live mic in front of them! When you're in the studio on your own, with no-one to bounce off, and you have to deliver day-in-day-out its a very different ball game. I think its just important that it's someone who is human and a likable person. Speaking from experience though, a little bit of crazy never goes a miss too, for good measure here and there!
If you weren't you who would you like to be?
I'm not saying I have no regrets and that I wouldn't change anything or do some things over if I could, but I like who I am right now - thank you!
What is your media diet?
Cappuccino and Italian food... I love noodles too... and lots of cappuccino... and did I mention cappuccino!? Oh... media diet, erm... I'm still deciding if I like podcasts or not... sometimes I find myself laughing out loud or smiling at something when I'm on the Metro, but I think people around me get a bit scared like I'm some kind of crazy person... well, I guess I am actually... never mind!
What makes you angry/laugh?
Rude people make me angry and laugh... I get angry at people when they barge you out of the way or whatever, but then I laugh at them because they're losers!
What will your epitaph be?
Dan Black was here!
What's your favourite bar/restaurant?
Bar: Trillians Rockbar
Restaurant... can I have two? Sod it, I'm having two... Pani's cafe (Italian) and Hei Hei (Chinese).
I'm also a big fan of Strada, Wagamamas and Sachins... so there!
Do you have any hobbies?
Not sure if it counts I'm still learning to inline skate... although mostly I'm on my ass or wheezing because I'm totally unfit at the moment (who am I kidding, I've been unfit for years!).
What's your funniest moment since working at Metro Radio?
I have my moments... but I guess someone else would have to tell me what my funniest is!
What was your first ever record?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Turtle Power by Partners In Kyrme (7-inch vinyl single) - how very retro!
Who is the most famous person you have met through work?
Depends on the genre... I guess Slipknot's Corey Taylor would be the most famous rockstar... but I have also worked with Darius!
What was the most embarrassing thing to ever happen to you at work?
I never do anything embarrassing at work - honest! ...HONEST!
What was the best company night out?
Define best...! I once got roped into dancing with some grannies at an event for our sister station Magic 1152 and then needed saving and had to make a quick exit when they started to make a pass at me! Not the best... but certainly memorable - for all the wrong reasons! The best was probably the parent company's annual awards ceremony in Edinburgh a couple of years ago... I'd been up since 4am because I was producing the breakfast show that day, I didn't go to bed until something like 6am the next day... oddly it was only breakfast show producers and presenters that were still up drinking at that time - I think it's because we only very rarely get a mid-week night off so we were making the most of it!
What is the first thing you do when you get to work?
Erm... log on to the computer? (While downing, yep you guessed it, a cappuccino!)
Where are you most likely to be on a Saturday night?
On the sofa... I work weekend mornings ya see! Although on a Tuesday night (which is basically my Saturday night) I'm at Northumbria Students' Union for "Get Ya Skates On" - it's a punk, ska, rock, metal, hip-hop, D'n'B, R'n'B, night... very eclectic, very cheap - I love it!
