Following our support of last summer’s tall ships event in Blyth; this summer we’re pleased to announce we’ll be part of Northumberland Live event taking place on the sea front on 24th June. The free event, that attracts more than 15,000 people and brings tens of thousands of pounds into the town, will yet again feature chart favourites alongside the best local talent. The first name announced on the bill today are The Undertones.
Timeless hits such as ‘Here Comes the Summer’, ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ and “My Perfect Cousin” will be heard across South Beach at Blyth as well as the ground-breaking ‘Teenage Kicks’.
Recently the band has played at sell out venues and festivals all over Europe but it will be their first ever visit to Blyth. The festival’s tradition of staging bands with well-known sing a long songs follows on from last year’s successful appearance of Scouting For Girls at Northumberland Live where 15,000 people turned out to watch the band and enjoy all of the other activities on offer.
Organiser of the event, Mel Jackson from Jigsaw Event Management said.” This is a great opportunity for music lovers, families and the people of Northumberland and for those travelling from near and far to attend the festival to have a great free day out in Blyth. As usual, there’ll be something for everyone with a family activities area, superb street theatre, fun fair, wonderful food concessions and of course, great music.
“We are delighted to announce that this year’s media partner will be Metro Radio who will add a new dimension to the festival.”
