Men across the region will take part in a very special race this Sunday all in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Miles for Men will take place in Sunderland this weekend raising money to fund reasearch into beating cancer.
The race came to Hartlepool last week with around 900 runners backing the charity run. Sunderland Miles for Men will take place this Sunday at Herrington Country Park.
Before setting runners off at 11am, the race will begin with an emotional minutes silence to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer.
Entertainment will also be on site all day to keep the rest of the family entertained while the lads take on the 5k course. Family activities will include Tuners Funfair and Animals about Town with plenty to do for the kids.
The established male only 3 mile fun run, which started in Hartlepool, has to date raised almost £85,000 for multiple cancer charities.
The charity fun run was established by Michael Day in 2012 following his father’s death from throat cancer in 2007.
Dads, friends, brothers and mates across the region are encouraged to take part to help fight over 200 types of cancer at an event near you. Register today or simply turn up on the day with your entry fee!
