We need people of all ages and backgrounds to become foster carers and provide a loving home to children and young people in care in the North East.

We are looking for people who can consider long term, short term and respite foster care for children and young people of all ages.

We are particularly interested in foster carers for teenagers who have the patience and time to be able to talk to a young person.

Black and minority ethnic foster carers are also needed to support children from BME backgrounds who may have been separated from, or have little contact with their own community.

Disabled children and their families need help and support too through short break care.

Local authorities are working together in the North East as Fostering North East Support Teams (NEST) to encourage more people in the region to think about fostering.
