Clive Warren definitely lives for today. He can be seen regularly at shows at the Sunderland Empire, Theatre Royal and Metro Radio Arena. Even though he’s a light weight when it comes to the drink, his favourite bars are North and The Fourth in Newcastle. ”I’m really enjoying the return of stand-up comedy coming back to the North East”. Clive can’t be bothered with Facebook he says “I prefer to talk to people” and loves to watch the Seals on Farne Island on days off.
He made former Sunderland AFC and England striker Darren Bent laugh at an awards ceremony by asking the diet conscious footballer for his sticky toffee pudding!
When Clive was working at the BBC in Broadcasting House in London, Anne Robinson from the Weakest Link tried to get him thrown out. ‘I was having a laugh, a massive laugh with my friend Simon (Parkin from Children’s BBC) and she called security – which made the whole thing even funnier”
Everyday Clive travels to Metro, by Metro while reading the Metro – how’s that for coincidence.
Clive says “The best part of my day is the banter with the callers on the Top 10 at 10, it’s grown so much we’re like a family”.
Having been a significant part of the UK’s national and market leading radio stations over his long career, Clive says he’s very proud to be part of the current team at Metro Radio and living in the North East.
It’s all good – “Happiness Always”.
